THE WORLD OF CURRY

The idea started from the fact that curry is my favourite food, which took a step forward at a funeral and which since (2005) has been on a slow burner. There never seem to be enough time to do the things you want.

Anyway, begin born into the multicultural society of Aruba and living my early years in British Guiana now Guyana, in South America, where the predominant population is Indian, curry has always been part of the stable diet in our rather large extended family. And being of an imigrant (Portuguese) family heritage, as children, we never once questioned nor related anything to “race”….. the fact that we ate Indian or African meals most of the time, with a sprinkle of what (I was to later find out) was part of the Portuguese DNA at more religion feasts…..these were all the natural delights of life……

And in the circle of family friends (or anywhere we went for that matter) curry was always the major presence. In fact, if it wasn’t, then we would just assume we were in the wrong place.
